Electronic computer music is generated either live through a mic direct to your computer or from a musical tool such as a keyboard through a USB sound box to the soundcard in your computer. Various tracks can be edited and mixed together to form a harmonious whole.
The world's first digital electronic music was generated in Australia by a programmer named Geoff Hill. Later music was composed for the computer by the Greek composer, Jannis Xerakis. This early digital music was transcribed into scores that could be played on traditional musical instruments. This was more than forty years ago. Many of the works of the great composers such as Bach and Mozart have been generated through the computer in an attempt to imitate the sounds of the past in an exciting way.
